Electrolyzed reduced water (ERW) with very high pH (>9.8) has been linked to rare cases of electrolyte imbalance like hypokalemia (low potassium).
Kidney patients or those with reduced kidney function are at higher risk of metabolic alkalosis and should avoid alkaline hydrogen water without medical supervision.
