Dr. Ritu R. Vyas is a triple board-certified physician in Nephrology, Internal Medicine, and Obesity Medicine, and the founder of Kidney MD in Catonsville, Maryland.
Dr. Vyas completed her nephrology fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Since then, she has practiced medicine across the D.C.-Baltimore area, caring for patients from a wide range of backgrounds in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.

Over time, Dr. Vyas recognized that insurance-driven billing models and administrative demands frequently push preventive care aside in favor of treating disease after it's already progressed.

To better serve her patients, Dr. Vyas pursued additional training and board certification in Obesity Medicine — equipping her to support patients across every aspect of their health, including nutrition, lifestyle change, and physical activity.
