About Dr. Vyas

Over the past decade, Dr. Vyas has practiced medicine in multiple cities, serving diverse communities with patients from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. She has provided care with the utmost compassion, whether in the boroughs of New York City, Washington, D.C., or Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Vyas completed her residency in New York and then returned home to complete her fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore MD. Since then, she has worked in private practice across the D.C.-Baltimore area.

Over time, she recognized that the current healthcare system is fundamentally flawed. It often does not allow enough time for physicians to provide patient-centered care due to insurance-driven billing models and numerous administrative requirements. Preventive care is frequently overlooked, with a greater focus placed on treating disease rather than preventing it.

At Kidney MD, we are breaking from this traditional model. We emphasize patient-centered care, focusing on education and the prevention of chronic diseases. To better serve her patients, Dr. Vyas pursued additional training in Obesity Medicine, equipping her with the knowledge to support patients in all aspects of their health — including nutrition, lifestyle changes, and the importance of physical activity. Our mission in establishing Kidney MD is to provide high-quality care to all patients, helping them manage chronic diseases and empowering them to prevent these conditions and their complications.
