About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to collaborate on an as-needed, referral-based basis as an independent contractor. This role is ideal for an RDN who operates their own practice or provides services to multiple clients and is looking to add flexible clinical work without a fixed schedule.
This is not an employment position. The dietitian will maintain professional autonomy and determine how services are delivered within agreed-upon scope and applicable standards of care.
Scope of Services:
The independent contractor may provide some or all of the following services, based on expertise and availability:

Nutrition counseling via telehealth for adult patients

Evidence-based counseling for metabolic health, weight management, kidney-related nutrition, or chronic disease prevention

Development of individualized nutrition care plans

Documentation consistent with professional standards and payer requirements (if applicable)

Communication with referring clinicians as appropriate for care coordination

Services are provided per referral or per consult, not as ongoing assigned duties.

Independent Contractor Structure:

Contractor sets their own availability and may accept or decline referrals

Contractor controls how services are delivered, consistent with licensure and professional standards

Contractor may work with other practices or clients concurrently

No guaranteed hours or minimum volume

Compensation is per consult / per session, as outlined in a separate independent contractor agreement

Contractor provides their own professional liability insurance and business entity

Required Qualifications:

Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
-
Active Maryland state license
-
Professional liability insurance
-
Experience with adult nutrition counseling
-
Comfortable practicing independently and managing clinical workflow

Nice to Have:

Experience in nephrology, metabolic health, obesity medicine, or chronic disease care

Telehealth experience
-
Existing private practice or contract-based work

Compensation:

Per-consult or per-session compensation
